NEXT ECC BOARD MEETING:
June 2, 2014 LGI, EHS, 8 p.m.
PLAN UPDATE AND MEETING DATES
The Town of Greenburgh has released a draft of the
“Comprehensive Plan for Unincorporated Greenburgh”.
This plan is designed to increase tax revenue to the
Town by, among other things, rezoning Central Avenue
to encourage the development of high density rental
apartments in Edgemont.
Aimed at creating revenues for the Town, it ignores
the impact that such development will have locally
to Edgemont, on the school district, fire district
and traffic. Substantial increases in student
population could severely threaten the quality of
education that the District provides and would most
certainly increase school taxes and affect property
values. The ECC will be meeting to create a formal
response to the plan and will share it with the
community as soon as it becomes available.
The chapters that are most pertinent to Edgemont
are Chapters 12 and 11 (in that order). Chapter
12 page 45 begins to summarize the plan for our
area; 12-57 - Mt. Joy/Henry Street Traditional
Hamlet District and 12-58 - Ardsley Road/Central
Avenue District Center discusses potential
specific plans for Edgemont.
The Town of
Greenburgh Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee
(CPSC) will be holding public comment meetings
at Town Hall on the following dates:

Saturday, May 10th, at 10:00am
